ERIK ORSENNA PRESIDENT OF THE INSEEC U. ACADEMIC ADVISORY BOARD

After studying philosophy and political science and ten years of research and lecturing in international finance and development economics at University Paris 1 and at the Ecole normale supérieure [selective and prestigious French graduate school], Erik Orsenna began his political career in the Ministry of Cooperation, went on to work at the Elysée as a Cultural Advisor, before joining the Conseil d’Etat [Council of State]. Writer, passionately interested in the French language, in history and in travel, he was made a member of the Académie française in 1998. He has written seven novels and been awarded the Goncourt French literature prize for ‘L’Exposition coloniale’ [The Colonial Exhibition]. Strong advocate of interdisciplinarity, firmly convinced by INSEEC U.’s educational perspective, he is currently at the head of the Scientific Advisory Board.
